Brassaï – The Secret Signs of Paris
Brassaï (Gyula Halász) is one of the most famous photographers in the history of photography. In the early 1930s, he set out with his camera on nocturnal walks through Paris. The book “Brassaï – The Secret Signs of Paris”, with 165 black-and-white photographs, is published in conjunction with a huge exhibition of Brassaï’s original prints at Moderna Museet 2026. Curated by Anna Tellgren together with Brassaï’s nephew Philippe Ribeyrolles, the exhibition presents Brassaï to a new audience. The 208-page book in two language editions is designed by Malmsten Hellberg and is co-published by MM, Silvana Editoriale and the Brassaï estate, with a new text by French-Algerian novelist Nina Bouraoui. Text is set in Tid, introducing a beta version of Tid Condensed.
