Israel Palestine on Swedish TV 1958–1989

During 1958–1989, reporters from Swedish national television (SVT) were constantly present in Israel and Palestine, documenting everything from everyday life to international crises. Göran Hugo Olsson’s new archive-based documentary, where footage of the rise of the Israeli state is interwoven with the Palestinian struggle for independence, tells the story of a changed media landscape and offers perspectives to a conflict that has affected our time like few others. Along with contemporary music and carefully considered editing, graphic design by Malmsten Hellberg makes up the film’s framework. The film had it’s world premiere at the 81st Venice Film Festival and the poster design was revealed at Cineropa.
