Idomeni
The film Idomeni by David Aronowitsch, which had its world premiere at the Gothenburg Film Festival, follows two Yazidi families fleeing from their homeland Iraq. Nawaf, Nadia and their children hoping for a future in Germany; Yasir, who is waiting for information about his wife Khalida who is captured by IS. “It’s their movie,” says David Aronowitsch. Cinematographer is Pia Lehto, who has been following the families along with David for several years. Malmsten Hellberg designed graphics and posters. The film is divided into eleven chapters where the initial graphics create structure and collect names and places so that the scenes can stand for themselves.
